Snow days in Prestwood

Over the two years we had in Prestwood, we had about four real snow days.  The first day was a freak occurrence where our small section of the country received 8-10 inches of heavy snow and the rest of England barely had any.  We woke up to a lovely pristine blanket of snow and then played outside while another few inches fell throughout the day.
Each time we rushed off with the sleds in search of a good hill.  We finally found our perfect spot just west of Prestwood in some farmers fields.  Our favorite run was a steep 100 yards, and boy did we pick up speed. On one occasion we built a snow ramp for the sled and Tyler just about broke his back from landing awkwardly on his back after a bigger than expected jump.

The longest run was in a nearby field and was about 300 yards long and went through a big crater of some kind.  It was quite the workout to climb back up again pulling the kids in the sled!
The back yard and house looked so different with the snow cover.

We made the most of every opportunity and have some lovely memories of sledding as a family.
