During the month of August, we ventured several times up to the magical world of the Cotswolds to hike, tour, fish and eat. We fell in love with this region that is frozen in a time when sheep's wool was king cotton and houses and churches were made to last with gray stone that look the same to this day.
As one trip became at least three, we got so behind on the blog that we decided to merge all the trips and start fresh or else we'd never catch up!
We explored the Chaselton house, an elegant 1600s manor house that was home to the game of croquet.
We marched 4.5 miles through the beautiful Cotswolds hills from Stow-on-the-Wold to Lower Slaughter and had a wonderful lunch at an old mill.
We went trout fishing and caught a 'whopper' in Bibury.
We visited a Roman Villa in Chedworth and took an infamous treat break on a log bridge.
We strolled along the canals in Bourton on the water and dipped our toes in the water.
We canoed on the Thames and passed an old hobo skinny dipping in the middle of nowhere.
I'm sure this will not be the last post about the Cotswolds!
